  • Responsibilities

    Position Description

    • Incumbent will assist with designing and fabricating prototype hardware, test vehicles and test support equipment for testing emergency egress/life support equipment.
    • With guidance, operate conventional and CNC lathes and mills in accordance with customer requirements/technical drawings to complete complex projects.
    • Recommend materials and tooling most appropriate for product development.
    • Assist with performing reviews of engineering drawings, providing input to design and development.
    • Assists with determining appropriate manufacturing method/materials to meet weight/size requirements of test equipment.
    • Participates in test operations of emergency egress/life support equipment.
    • Estimates time and materials required to complete a wide variety of metal fabrication projects.
    • Ability to proficiently perform welding operations with a variety of methods including Mig (GMAW), Arc (SMAW) and TIG.
    • Maintain positive relationships with customers, generate cost estimates, manage schedule, and complete projects within the agreed upon cost and timeframe.
    • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, manage hazardous waste generated by the branch, and manage weight handling equipment.
    • Operate forklift as needed during test operations.
