    Navigation and Landing Systems Finance is seeking a talented individual to join the finance team in Fullerton, CA!

    The Intern will work closely with the NLS Finance team and be exposed to all aspects of aerospace program financial reporting, such as; Cash management, Sales forecasting, Contract Set-up, Baseline Development and Earned Value reporting. As a program controls team member, the intern plays a role in the execution of the program and will gain valuable experience from working with cross functional disciplines, such as; Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Contracts.

    The position could lead to further internships or full-time employment depending on work performance.

    Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

    • Generate actuals, manpower, names run and spend plan reports. Analyze this data for anomalies, identify trends and make recommendations to the finance team.
    • Support the NLS team with the monthly sales forecast, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 5 year Plan.
    • Prepare various analyses that will be used in the monthly Program Review (PMR) and internal Business Reviews.
    • Assist with contract start-up activities, such as; creating and maintaining a Performance Measurement Baseline, setting up a WBS structure, generating Work Authorizations and opening up charge numbers.
    • Prepare data that will be used for the customer Earned Value Management (EVM) Contract Performance Report (CPR).

    Required Skills

    • Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
    • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment independently and as a team member.
    • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.

    • Strong problem solving, organizational, and presentation skills
    • Shows initiative by seeking ways to improve processes and data analysis
    • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to support the preparation and presentation of written briefs and summaries for internal communication

    Required Education

    • Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a BA administrative degree in the area of Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
    • A GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is desired.
    • This position is for a Senior Internship based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
    • Senior status – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2018.
