Position Description

This position will serve as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) within the F-35 Lightening II Office of the Chief Information Officer with direct reporting to the F-35 Lightening II Chief Information Officer (CIO). This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• You will provide authoritative information and advice to the F-35 Lightening II Joint Program leadership team on the worthiness of major IT decisions and investments to support strategic planning on a continuing basis.
• You will serve as the program’s focal point of technical expertise for identification/assessment of pertinent information technologies and their applications/capabilities/limitations.
• You will lead analyses of advanced technologies/design concepts/products to assess potential to meet current/projected JSF operational requirements.
• You will direct technical analyses to weigh potential performance enhancements against resource constraints and risk factors.
• You will annually update the JSF Program IT Strategic Plan in support of stated JSF goals.
• You will develop methodologies to provide program leadership with comprehensive JSF IT systems forecasts.
• You will support the leadership team in documenting/presenting/justifying IT budgets and specific capital planning initiatives to the Navy, Air Force and Marines.
