  • Responsibilities

    DESCRIPTION:Entry-level position working under the guidance of senior engineers. Apply industrial engineering concepts and techniques to analyze processes and support product and process design teams in all stages of the product life cycle. Competently use computers and other systems to access, maintain, and manipulate data. Plan and prepare production schedules to support production operations based on engineering plans, production specifications, plant capacity, availability of parts, and manpower requirements. Interface with stakeholders to drive tasks to completion. Provide direct shop floor support including creation of crew plans, burn down charts, and performance metrics to surface problems and optimize production. Maintain project timelines including updates, analysis, and the ability to simulate various scheduling scenarios. Assist teams in the implementation of changes in manufacturing, engineering and service operations to improve key performance indicators. Document processes and contribute to production engineering body of knowledge playbooks.

    Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance (secret). Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods. May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities. Must be a US citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or other technical field or equivalent experience. Proficient with Microsoft Project. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access

    EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 4 yr and up College

    DESIRED SKILLS:

    Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. Demonstrated results leading projects. Experience applying and implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system. Exposure to manufacturing execution systems. Understanding Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Experience working with Business Objects (BO) or other performance reporting tools. Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms.
