  • Responsibilities

    Performs the Make, Buy and / or Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions. Performs one or more multiple manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions. Maintains production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost. Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements. Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts, analyzes and controls production schedule and capacity requirements, executes the plan, provides timely status and expedites or works around plans to preserve schedule. Coordinates with Supply Chain Stakeholders including Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and executes processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements. Maintains MRP parameters including lead times and lot sizes and coordinates with Engineering and Change Board Rep to make the associated changes to the BOM. Selected individual will become part of the Material Operations team in Palmdale and will join a select group of individuals who are responsible for providing support to one or more Palmdale programs. Candidate will be responsible for controlling the flow of tools and consumables to the shop floor and deploying Automated Dispensing Units. Must be able to analyze, evaluate and react to all issues and concerns that have the potential of adversely affecting manufacturing schedule. Will attend / chair status meetings advising management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Must be a self-starter, flexible, possess strong interpersonal skill and capable of managing multiple tasks. Must be a US Citizen; this position may require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

    The Production Operations Intern Program is intended to develop individuals capable of becoming productive members of a technical/engineering team within the Operations disciplines. Disciplines such as Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Material Operations, Manufacturing Operations, Facilities Operations/Engineering. Selected candidates will participate in training opportunities in communication skills and professional development. Candidates for this position are selected while actively pursuing an Engineering/Supply Chain/Operations Management related bachelor’s degree and assessed by management as possessing requisite skills and abilities for development.     BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in industrial engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, or other related technical field.

    DESIRED SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of SAP and Production Control. Production Control/Shop floor control experience. Proficient in problem solving. Experience working in a Union environment.
    • Must be a self starter, and possess strong interpersonal skills
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Good professional written and oral communication skills
