The systems engineering activities include, but are not limited to, system integration, validation, and verification, as well as architecture development, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development, trade studies, requirements analysis and flow down to hardware/software configuration.
Leadership, design, integration, and test support are provided to a variety of communications systems programs including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band), and Line-Of-Site/Beyond Line-Of-Site for ground based, ship, submarine, and airborne platforms. The System Integration and Test activities include implementation, integration, and test of advanced, state-of-the-art hardware, firmware, and software, (through Internal Engineering Research and development) and/or optimization of Commercial-Of-The Shelf (COTS) products to meet War Fighter real-life challenges in servicing Department of Defense (DoD) operational and logistic requirements.
The staff member selected to join the SEIT department under this requisition will work in a team-based environment to design and develop electronic and electro-mechanical equipment and/or systems-oriented products, will prepare related installation, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions, will analyze equipment to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests, and will generate and/or analyze engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment.
They may also participate in the generation and/or conduct of System-level Test Plans and Procedures to validate and verify design and requirements compliance. Further, they will likely support and implement Raytheon and DOD customer IV&V activities, Environmental Qualification (Temperature, Shock, Vibration, and Survivability), Operation Certification, and field testing (Initial Test and Evaluation of Flight Test and Interoperability Test) with other Raytheon Staff and DOD subcontractors.
