    Position Description

    Duties of the SPIL operator include:

    Maintain clear and concise communication with the SPIL Lead and other team members on current status of daily/weekly schedules of building and delivering threat emitter models. Perform duties required for SPIL development, maintenance, and operations.

    Responsible for assisting the team lead and team members in completion of SPIL development. Tasks include upgrading hardware capability, integrating additional HW components such as a data link and MIDS terminal, improving reliability of emitter model RF scene injection, and assist with future upgrades to various missile hardware. Assist with ongoing development and integration of scenario generation software, debugging and test procedures as needed. Learn and perform the duties for verification and validation of the SPIL and its components to mature the facility and increase confidence that its results agree with measured data.

    Perform duties as directed by the team lead to work with the FXTPO Mission Support Cell in verifying performance of UDF mission data files delivered to warfighters at least twice per year. Also coordinate testing of mission data files prior to captive carry or free flight test events as well as warfighter training exercises. Complete studies and analyses used to assess missile performance in a realistic pulse-dense RF environment and provide tactical employment recommendations to optimize system capability against threat ships. Perform signal chain analysis for RF systems and analyze complex RF signals and data from simulation runs
