    Supply Chain at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) is a world-class organization that has core contributing roles and responsibilities from product development through product delivery. There are several major and distinct disciplines that make up the Supply Chain organization: Material Strategies, Procurement, Logistics and Supplier Engineering. Supplier Engineers are responsible for managing the manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers to meet or exceed the desired supplier performance. The goal is continuous measureable improvement of supplier performance. Supply Chain interns in Supplier Engineering will contribute by supporting Supplier Engineers in the following areas:

    • Increasing supplier process capabilities
    • Identifying and reducing risk and recurring cost
    • Process non-conforming hardware
    • Contribute to Supplier performance improvement
    • Responsiveness to RMS factory needs for supplied hardware
    • Coordination and incorporation of design and process changes
    • Creating and managing improvement projects
    • Eliminating quality escapes and non-conformances
    • Eliminating waste
    • Determining root cause and corrective action investigations to prevent defect recurrence
    • Supporting strategic sourcing and affordability efforts
    • Providing technical leadership to multi-disciplined teams to meet quality, cost and schedule objectives

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • A basic understanding of principles, theories, and concepts as they relate to Product Manufacturing
    • Knowledgeable in applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)
    • Familiarity with SAP systems

    REQUIRED EDUCATION (INCLUDING MAJOR):

    • This position requires a progression towards a Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited curriculum in Engineering with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
    • Must have completed 90 credit hours by the end of the Spring 2018 semester to be considered a Senior Intern.
    • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
    • Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

    The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
