    Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) has a MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERNSHIP to join our Hardware and Infrastructure (HWI) team located in INDIANAPOLIS, IN. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work with a team of talented and experienced engineers in performing activities related to the design, development, integration and testing of mechanical products. Support for these activities may include design, modeling and generation of engineering drawings using CREO (3-D CAD software tool); supporting trade studies; and providing general engineering support for production and testing. The actual assigned tasks will depend on the skills of the individual intern and the project needs at the time. You will be expected to apply your engineering knowledge to provide creative and innovative solutions to problems and to ensure that projects are completed on schedule while following established procedures. You will be expected to work with technical direction at a medium level of independence.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Mechanical engineering coursework such as: basic design, thermodynamics, dynamics, metallurgy, basic electrical circuits, mechanics of materials, modeling, analysis and simulation, and associated lab work
    • Experience with a 3D CAD solid modeling tool
    • Positive attitude and desire to learn
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO ACCESS SYSTEMS THAT CONTAIN INFORMATION RESTRICTED TO US CITIZENS BASED ON CERTAIN FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS.

    DESIRED SKILLS:

    • Knowledge of MS Office
    • Engineering project or internship experience
    • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    • Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in the area of Mechanical Engineering or another STEM related field.
    • A GPA of 3.0+ is strongly desired. Please include your GPA on your resume and a copy of your transcript. You must have obtained Junior, Senior or Post Grad status as of Summer 2019.
