  • Responsibilities

    Raytheon is looking for a Program Office Intern to join the Network Weather Systems (NWS) Program Management Office, reporting to the Communications Program Manager. You will work directly with many aspects of program management, including program operations, new business proposal, finance, earned value management, contracts, and six sigma methodology. In this position, you may be tasked with assisting in such projects and activities as equipment maintainability studies, assisting in the preparation for the deployment of new systems and equipment, helping in the planning of site installations, preventive maintenance programs and tracking performance and maintenance records on equipment.

    The ideal candidate should have academic credentials and experience in working in a teamwork environment, having not only academic but also interpersonal skills to help optimize our team. The single most important attribute is an inquisitive nature and a strong desire to learn real-world applications to compliment your academic experience.

    Key Responsibilities for the qualified candidate include:

    • Special projects for the Deployment Manager, including, but not limited to: 360-degree program review status, tracking of critical program issues, create consolidated program reports for various programs within the Communication portfolio sub-mission area programs for the leadership team, finance projects
    • Participate in program operations reviews

    Required Skills:

    • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

    • Experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements

    Desired Skills:

    • Familiarity with hardware or software tools as appropriate for your academic level
    • Understanding of computers and computing systems
    • Willingness to learn new and innovative technical capabilities

    Required Education (including Major):

    Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in the area of Engineering, finance or business administration. A GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is desired. You must have obtained sophomore or junior, status as of summer 2018. This position can be for a Sophomore or Junior, Internship based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

    • Sophomore status – must have completed 30 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2018
    • Junior status – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2018
