    If you answered “yes”, the Design Synthesis Department within the Advanced Systems Development Center (ASDC) at Raytheon Missile Systems is interested to find out if you are a good addition to our team of software developers. We develop software prototyping technologies that support a variety of applications, services and tools for solving the most complex engineering problems across our enterprise and engineering efforts. The Design Synthesis department develops art of the possible solutions to grow our business by providing right-sized engineering solutions to solve advanced engineering problems through forward thinking, reliable execution and collaboration.

    DESIRED STRENGTHS

    We are seeking software developers who are technologically forward thinking, are self-motivated, have the ability to self-start, solve problems, and are capable of rapidly climbing the learning curve. You should also enjoy a fast-paced environment and have a desire to expand your horizons and knowledge base. The tasks require you to deliver 80% solutions quickly within two-week time windows in a multi-team environment. The candidate must be open to receiving and acting upon critical feedback.

    TASKS

    • Develop software architectures and solutions with a variety of technologies
    • Contribute to small, quick-turn projects that solve near-term engineering productivity problems
    • Conduct trades, develop back-end solutions and develop user interfaces
    • Conduct demonstrations of prototypes
    • Understand customer requirements and build them into right-sized solutions
    • Present development ideas and recommend new technologies for consideration in trade studies

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Experience in Java application development
    • Applied experience using JavaScript frameworks and libraries
    • Applied experience with front-end and back-end web development
    • Familiarity on multiple operating systems including Apple iOS, Windows, UNIX and/or Linux
    • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Awareness of software configuration management tools such as: Jenkins/TFS Code Pipeline, Ivy, Maven 3, SVN, RPM, Ant or Git
    • Experience developing/enhancing/maintaining REST Web Services
    • Experience with DevOps [Jenkins/TFS] Code Pipeline or other continuous integration/deployment solutions
    • Practical application of JSON formats, XML, web services, Windows.NET and custom applications
    • Awareness of network / systems development
    • Awareness of scripting in some of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Perl, Groovy, javascript and shell scripting
    • Awareness of Agile, Scrum methodologies

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
    • U.S. CITIZENSHIP STATUS IS REQUIRED AS THIS POSITION NEEDS AN ACTIVE U.S. SECURITY CLEARANCE AS OF DAY ONE OF EMPLOYMENT.

    DESIRED EDUCATION

    • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
    • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) secret clearance

    This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
