RAYTHEON INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION AND SERVICES is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to support a NASA's EOSDIS Evolution and Development 2 (EED-2) program, which involves the maintenance and evolution of the EOSDIS ECS, CMR, Earthdata, and NGAP systems, key components of NASA's Earth Science mission. These systems run on a Linux platform and are implemented largely in Java, Ruby and C++.The ideal candidate will be a highly enthusiastic team member excited about learning new technologies and continually evolving an operational system.

In this position, which is located in Riverdale, MD, the intern will have the opportunity to have hands-on development of new system capabilities supporting climate research.

This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION (INCLUDING MAJOR):

• Pursuing a BACHELOR’S DEGREE in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics
• Must have obtained sophomore, junior or senior status by Summer of 2019 (Candidate for graduation in 2022, 2021 or 2020)
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is desired

This position can be a Salary Grade ST02, Salary Grade ST03, or Salary Grade ST04 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Proficiency in Java or Ruby in a Linux or UNIX development environment

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a structured team environment with other software engineers
