    The Skunk Works (Lockheed Martin Advanced Development Programs) is looking for world class talent in structural analysis to be a part of a team that will carry on our 75 year tradition making history in advanced aircraft development.

    This position is with the Advanced Development Programs Advanced Structures group in Fort Worth, TX. The successful candidate will design, analyze, develop, and/or test a variety of aircraft structures parts and assemblies, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight. This candidate will establish structural specifications, perform stress analysis, and conduct performance tests. Tasking will require hands-on support during the manufacturing development and ground testing phases. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

    DESIRED SKILLS: 

    • Interim Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance
    • Structural analysis hand calculation methods
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Modeling
    • Familiar with LM Aero Common Analysis Tools including SLIM/Vision/IDAT/ABAQUS/MSC NASTRAN/PATRAN/MatLab
    • Familiar with Durability and Damage Tolerance
    • Familiar with Fatigue and Fracture
    • Familiar with Metallic, Composite, Ceramic Matric Composites (CMC), and Carbon-Carbon (C-C) Materials, Manufacturing and Design
    • Familiar with Mechanical and Thermal analysis techniques
    • Familiar with Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME)
    • Familiar with Additive Manufacturing (AM)/3D Printing
    • Familiar with Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO)
    • Familiar with CATIA V5 environment
    • Shop Floor experience and Hands-On approach to problem solving
    • Understanding of drawing best practices, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GDAT) material properties, and manufacturing processes
    • Excellent writing and communication skills

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
