    Raytheon Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) is seeking a SYSTEMS ENGINEERING TEST SUPPORT INTERN in the Transportation and Support Services (TSS) department located in MARLBOROUGH, MA. This position is intended for an individual with educational experience and professional interest in the development of solutions for Air Traffic Control, Navigation and Landing, or Weather Data Reporting. The Intern effort would support ongoing or emerging programs.

    As a Systems Engineering Intern, the candidate will support engineering activities including algorithm development and analysis, development and execution of test plans and procedures for system integration and acceptance testing, and analysis of system performance data. Additional duties may include maintenance of system documentation and support to customer and internal presentations. The ideal Intern candidate must be professional, a self-starter, possess a positive attitude, demonstrate a willingness to learn program/organizational process and procedures, and be eager to engage with the program team.

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • INTERNS SHOULD BE RECIPIENTS OF THE ATCA/RAYTHEON WOMEN IN AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP
    • Class projects, professional internships, or academic research demonstrating the ability to apply technical course work or computer skills
    • Strong interpersonal & communication skills (verbal & written)
    • Strong team player
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Proficiency in the use of standard MS Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint)
    • THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO ACCESS SYSTEMS THAT CONTAIN INFORMATION RESTRICTED TO US CITIZENS BASED ON CERTAIN FEDERAL CONTRACTUAL REQUIREMENTS.

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
    • Educational background and interest in one of the following areas: Systems Engineering and Design, Aerospace Engineering, Navigation Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Human-Machine Interfaces, Signal Processing, and Modeling and Simulation
    • Familiarity with common engineering development processes Familiarity with Mathworks or MATLAB
    • Familiarity with automated requirements management tools, such as DOORS
    • Leadership or participation in college campus organizations, athletic teams, or community service groups

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • Candidate must be seeking a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution with a discipline in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or a closely related field.
    • A GPA of 3.0+ in a 4.0 grade scale is highly desired.

    You must have obtained sophomore, junior, or senior status as of summer 2019.

    THIS POSITION CAN BE SALARY GRADE ST02, SALARY GRADE ST03, OR SALARY GRADE ST04 BASED ON THE CANDIDATE’S QUALIFICATIONS AS THEY RELATE TO THE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION.

    • ST02 (TechStudent-Sophomore) – must have completed 60 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Sophomore status as of Summer 2019.
    • ST03 (TechStudent–Junior) – must have completed 90 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Junior status as of Summer 2019.
    • ST04 (TechStudent-Senior) – must have completed 120 hours of college credits towards degree and obtained Senior status as of Summer 2019.
