If your answers are yes, the Systems Design Center at Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) wants to learn more about you!Our headquarters in Tucson, AZ, is searching for several Systems Engineering Summer Interns to join a growing team.

The Systems Design Center within the System Design & Performance Directorate has systems design responsibility for programs in the following product lines: Naval and Area Mission Defense, Air Warfare Systems, Land Combat Systems and Air and Missile Defense Systems. The Systems Design Center is responsible for the overall technical integrity of the systems being developed, and is the point organization for coordinating GNC; Modeling, Simulation and Analysis; and Signal Processing support where required; the organization often takes the lead on Failure Review Boards, Engineering Review Boards, and other cross discipline engagements.The center is currently looking for Systems Engineering Summer Interns to provide systems design support for programs in various stages of the product life cycle.

U.S. CITIZENSHIP STATUS IS REQUIRED AS THIS POSITION NEEDS AN ACTIVE U.S. SECURITY CLEARANCE AS OF DAY ONE OF EMPLOYMENT.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Requirements development and maturation to include subsystem and component level.
• System architecture development and refinement in order to satisfy the system performance and interface requirements.
• Performance of trade studies to identify the best solutions in developing the system, trading cost, schedule, and performance.
• Establishment of verification and validation techniques for requirements at all levels of indenture for complex systems, to include application of simulation, testing, analysis, and demonstration.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Proven strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
• Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function
• Must currently have or be able to obtain a DoD issued Secret Security Clearance.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Matlab and/or C++ experience
• Modeling and Simulation experience
• Ability to analyze issues and define solutions
• Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills
• Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to problem solve and seek out additional resources
