Do you actively seek out problems to solve? Do you love helping people out? Do you have a permanent sense that things are not quite good enough?

If your answer is an enthusiastic yes, then you may be the person we want to join our team as a reliability engineer. The Reliability Engineering Department is seeking a Reliability Engineer I. Reliability Engineering ensures our systems safely and reliably perform their required mission functions through their required environments while meeting overall cost constraints.

This position will be supporting programs specifically by ensuring product reliability in relation to systems, hardware and software. What is the impact on the product of a failure? What is the likelihood a given failure will occur? Given the architecture, will the design be robust against all environments? These are the questions reliability engineers answer every day. Entry level engineers will work under the direction of senior reliability engineers and their engineering leadership on reliability engineering design and development tasks, production support analysis tasks, and failure reporting and corrective action resolution tasks as members of the Reliability Engineering Department.

So what does a reliability engineer do?

Reliability engineers analyze systems and designs to identify areas of insufficient margin and potential failure modes to make the system reliable and robust. The reliability engineer participates in all design reviews and customer meetings. The reliability engineer typically functions as a systems-oriented engineer with a broad view of the system starting from the conceptual level through the product's final form. The reliability engineer requires a high degree of self-motivation and ability to effectively interface with co-workers.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
