    NORTHROP GRUMMAN AERONAUTICS SYSTEMS SECTOR HAS AN OPENING FOR A TECHNICAL INTERN to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals and maintain our world class capabilities in a dynamic aerospace environment. This position will be located in PALMDALE, EL SEGUNDO, OR RANCHO BERNARDO, CA.

    The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Logistics and Modernization organization.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Candidate will perform Reliability, Maintainability Availability (RAM) analyses. Candidate will perform RAM-C activities to influence designs; this requires the candidate to have a strong analytical background in engineering analysis.

    • Candidate will support the following activities: Failure Review and Corrective Analysis Systems (FRACAS) reviews, Failure Review Board (FRB) activities, RAM-C requirement development, subcontractor data reviews for RAM products, development of RAM products for DOD customers, flight test activities and other PHM and/or Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) activities.

    • They will be expected to work independently with occasional guidance.

    • Job entails interfacing with Engineering and suppliers to assist in conducting complex trades’ analysis for design versus performance and cost.

    • Job includes performing of detailed quantitative and qualitative analytical analyses. It requires excellent communication and teamwork skills and the ability to quickly adapt and synthesize new information, processes, and data for tasks.

    • Must have excellent skills with Microsoft Office, specifically MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    A CANDIDATE MUST MEET ALL OF THE BELOW CRITERIA. THE CANDIDATE MUST:

    • Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in FALL 2023.

    • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

    • Be available to work part-time (maximum of 28 hours a week) throughout the academic year.

    • Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during SUMMER 2023.

    • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

    • Demonstrated history of preparing and delivering written and verbal reports individually and as part of a team effort across multiple levels of an organization.

    • Experience with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher

    • Active DoD Secret clearance with recent investigation within the scope of last 5 years.

    • Knowledge of Navy and/or Air Force aviation maintenance concepts and their impacts; Experience in RAM/BIT/PHM Engineering.

    INTERN PAY RANGE:

    • Bachelor’s (including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $19.25 to $36.50 per hour

    • Master’s: $ 28.75 to $46 per hour

    At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
