    TEST DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II An opportunity currently exists within the Electrical Design Directorate’s Test Development Department (TDD) for a TEST EQUIPMENT DESIGN ENGINEER. The primary responsibilities are the development, implementation, and integration of test capabilities utilizing test equipment hardware and software technologies. This is an excellent position for a test equipment design engineer who has experience in a variety of technologies (digital, analog, RF, and/or power supply test) and a desire to apply those skills in a combination of hardware and/or software test solutions.

    You will be joining a diverse project team tasked with developing and delivering test solutions for systems, sub-systems, and components for programs (radar, sonar, communication, missile, and combat control systems) within Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business area. These products can contain a mixture of Analog, RF, Microwave, Acoustic, High Power, and Digital Electronic technology with associated Software (embedded, firmware, Signal Processing, VHDL, etc.).

    TDD Engineers are involved from the beginning of product design as a concurrent engineering effort, continuing into supporting engineering design verification testing, production test and final system level verification and sell-off; including factory, depot, and field testing. Typical test solutions consist of custom design hardware and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) test instruments and fixturing which is integrated with test application software.Design and deployment efforts focus on highly utilized, flexible, scalable and reusable test solutions which provide the most efficient automated product handling and test capabilities.

  • Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology
    • 2+ years’ experience in engineering design and development environment with exposure to Test Equipment Design and Development tasks

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • CMMI and 6 sigma experience
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work as a member of a team
    • Test hardware and/or software design experience with Digital, Analog, RF and/or power supply technology including use of Commercial Test and Measurement Equipment
    • VXI / VME / MXI / PXI / CompactPCI application development
    • VHDL and embedded system design knowledge
    • Software applications / programming skills
    • Experience with National Instruments TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW
