Raytheon Applied Signal Technology has a need for a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain advanced high-capacity systems that process modern high-speed communications for the US intelligence community.

The successful candidate will work with other experienced engineering staff in Sunnyvale, CA to develop and deliver cutting-edge engineering solutions for the protection of our country. The successful candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Training or experience in software development using a high-level programming language such as C++, Java, or Python.
• Familiarity with developing in Linux/Unix environments
• Experience working both in a team environment and individually
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Understanding of software development process concepts including requirements, documentation, source control, and testing
• Demonstrable experience developing applications using relational, time series, and graph databases
• Experience using Google Protobuf, gRPC, ZeroMQ, CORBA, and/or other communication mechanisms
• Experience using version control or source code management tools
• Understanding of telecommunications, data communications systems, and network protocols
• Effective communication skills (i.e. Oral, Written & Listening)
• Ability to work effectively on diverse multi-discipline teams

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Must have a BS / BA with a major in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or other related field by Summer 2018 or have graduated 18 months prior to start date.
