  • Responsibilities

    The Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) is an engineering organization that focuses on product producibility and mission assurance. It is a vital link in the integrated product development process that allows Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems to introduce reliable new products faster, better, and more economically.

    The candidate will work within the Antenna & Electronic Subsystem Mechanical Design Department. Specific responsibilities may include:

    • Conceptual or detail mechanical design of airborne and space hardware.
    • Design or build of tooling and fixtures.
    • Designing and running engineering tests including thermal testing, vibration testing, and servo testing.
    • Engineering support of a production factory

    The chosen candidate will learn frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, concepts and techniques. Candidates will be expected to provide recommendations to a variety of technical problems of appropriate scope and complexity, working under general supervision. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

  • Qualifications

    Required Skills:

    • Must have strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades and/or hands on experience
    • Must be available for a minimum of ten weeks between May and October
    • US Citizenship is required
    • Ability to access to US only data systems

    Desired Skills:

    • Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects is a plus
    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

    Required Education (including major):

    • Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Sophomore, Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2018.
    • Must be working towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering Major, or equivalent technical discipline.
    • Must be appropriate grade level listed above.

    This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons
