    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    This is an entry level Systems Engineering position working for Self-Protect Systems (SPS) in Goleta, CA. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate to begin learning systems engineering at our Raytheon Goleta facility located near beautiful Santa Barbara, California.

    The successful candidate will perform systems engineering tasks associated with the reliability, maintainability, supportability, and safety (RMSS) of military systems. Position will require using engineering knowledge to learn the theory behind how electronic warfare systems work and using this knowledge to influence system design and development. The successful candidate will perform systems engineering duties including assisting with analyzing engineering drawings, developing reliability predictions, influencing product maintainability design decisions, and helping to ensure system design meets operational requirements. Position will also require using engineering knowledge to develop systems engineering plans and reports. The individual will be required to interface with electrical & mechanical design engineers and integration & test engineers while developing engineering analyses and white papers.

    Positon may require occasional CONUS travel. While developing engineering data, the selected candidate will be required to use engineering knowledge to help develop solutions to a variety of operation and maintenance problems while referring to policies and practices for guidance. Work will be reviewed for accuracy by the individuals integrated product team lead.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Ability to read and/or interpret engineering drawings
    • Knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Systems
    • Understanding of Software Coding
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
    • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
    • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

    DESIRED SKILLS:

    • Excellent communications, organizational, and customer interface skills

    REQUIRED EDUCATION (INCLUDING MAJOR): Must have a BS / BA with a major in Electrical Engineering or other related field by Summer 2019 or have graduated within 18 months prior to start date.
