This position is with our Advanced Development Programs (ADP) known as the Skunk Works located in Palmdale, CA. This is a full-time technical position for the Virtual Prototyping group. The Virtual Prototyping group is an advanced visualization provider of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) services and solutions to Lockheed Martin Corporation and its customers worldwide. Through the power of visualization and simulation methods, Virtual Prototyping helps people understand complex systems and ideas by “bringing concepts to life,” allowing for better, faster decision making and, ultimately, assisting programs in winning new business and performing on existing programs. From conceptual design to sustainment, Virtual Prototyping provides discriminating technologies to support the complete product life cycle that articulate information using simulation, visualization, virtual collaboration, human computer interfaces, and synthetic real-time environments. These capabilities save time, reduce costs and risks, improve quality, and enhance safety by increasing product and process understanding. The group provides unique capabilities and tailored solutions through product visualization, manufacturing simulation, serious games applications, vehicle simulation, operational awareness, virtual training, maintainability & sustainment operations, virtual & augmented reality, battle space visualization, continuous improvement efforts, facilities development, and much more.

This engineering position requires having a strong and diverse technical background being able to develop, integrate, and apply various M&S technologies in the fields of visualization, simulation, and human computer interfaces. Individual must be able to learn and quickly pickup technical concepts and software applications in effort to apply them to meet demanding program requirements. Candidate needs to have a strong programming (i.e. C++, C#, Java, .net, XML, etc.) background as well as the integration of programming with 3D applications (i.e. OpenGL, DirectX), gaming technologies, and real-time simulation tools. The candidate’s initial responsibilities will be to work with the Virtual Prototyping programming team on a number of real-time 3D M&S applications and human computer interface technologies. The candidate will also be leveraged for additional M&S research and development tasks.

• Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or Engineering related
• Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access

• Engineering Simulations Tool - Presagis tools (Vega Prime and Creator), VT MaK, DiSTI’s GL Studio, MetaVR, etc.
• Game Engines - CryEngine, Unity3D, Unreal, and Prepar3D
• Web Based Programming - HTML5, SQL, CSS, ASP, Ajax, WebGL, etc.
• 3D Graphics Programming - GPGPU, OpenGL, DirectX, etc.

• Experience with Augmented and Virtual reality methods and applications;
• Aeronautics and/or Math background
