    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    We are seeking a Sr. Business Operations Analyst. This role will be positioned on the Strategy/Business Analytics team and overall, is responsible for providing data and insights to drive informed decision-making and improve business performance. The Business Operations Analyst will play a key role in providing analytics support and thought leadership to a wide range of business functions at Udemy, including but not limited to, the Customer Operations team.

    The Udemy Global Customer Operations team’s mission is to support our student and instructor community to enable the best possible online learning environment. The team delivers the process and information flows that drive the entire customer journey optimization, promoting cross-functional alignment, overseeing resource and performance planning, refining key processes to increase efficiencies, and adopting best-in-class tools and technologies to support the business. We are looking for an experienced candidate to support this team and other business functions at Udemy by becoming the go-to resource for performance monitoring and actionable insights.

    WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the business needs and objectives

    • Serve as the analytics thought partner to select business leaders, helping them leverage data-driven insights that improve business decisions and operational performance

    • Provide analytical support on key initiatives to drive revenue growth, deliver process improvements, and enable cost reductions - all in the service of enhancing overall organizational decision making

    • Build out reports, dashboards, data sets, and analysis to monitor business performance drivers and recommend actionable solutions to multiple stakeholder groups

    • Define key performance metrics and relevant data sources, and introduce processes to increase automation of manual data analysis and reporting

    • Leverage your forecasting capabilities to help support future capacity planning for operational and customer-facing teams at Udemy

    WHO YOU ARE:

    • 5+ years of experience in data analytics and insights, data science, scripting language, mathematical/statistical modeling, and/or management science

    • Strong executive and business stakeholder communication and management, including the ability to influence without authority

    • Expert level knowledge of business insights and analytics tools, platforms and technologies

    • Experience with at least 1-2 business intelligence tools such as Looker (preferred), Tableau, PowerBI, and SFDC.

    • Intermediate+ SQL (3+ years) required

    • Prior experience optimizing code and optimizing BI processes

    • Strategic thinker and problem solver, who is motivated by delivering commercial impact vs. producing vanity analytics.

    • Highly collaborative, team player who can work cross-functionally while balancing multiple projects/competing priorities

    • Has a keen sense for when an 80/20 approach will suffice to get to the right solution vs. when more rigor is required

    • Be proactive in asking “why” often. You’re excited to combine your high energy, curiosity and inquisitive nature with your analytics acumen to truly shape the direction of our business

    • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in data science, mathematics, statistics, management science, or other quantitative discipline; masters in analytic disciplines or MBA is a plus
