    Salary: Grade 3 - $18.46 Hourly

    Shift : Flexible schedule, 20- 30 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Hybrid -1 day a week onsite.

    Location : 1200 North 7th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17102.

    JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

    This position assists with the timely payment of vendor invoices. The Accounting Associate I role compares vendor invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and various policies and procedures, obtains necessary approvals, and maintains all payment or other transaction records in the accounting system. This position may work with vendors and employees.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Billing and Accounts Receivable Support

    Identify and manage a broad portfolio of business opportunities with frequent travel to potential and current clients to promote PHEAA products and services. Travel includes visiting assigned schools as well as attending industry conferences and trade association events. Such campus visits will include various offices including, but not limited to financial aid, bursar, admissions, student accounts and alumni.

    Responsible for monitoring the Accounts Payable mailbox for vendor communication and preparing vendor invoices for imaging.

    Prepare basic payments for vendors and employees in PeopleSoft.

    Review, compare, and post to accounts for both recurring and non-repetitive invoices.

    Check the accuracy and completeness of standard/basic invoices against repetitive accounting documents which include purchase orders, contracts, and various policies and procedures.

    Work closely with Supply Management and various business units to process payments timely.

    Post vouchers on standard accounts and classify or code transactions to the appropriate accounts, departments, line of business, and fiscal year.

    Perform basic clerical work. Such duties may include imaging, filing, or retrieving documents and correspondence, collecting or distributing mail.

    Type, copy, or mail routine documents.

    File, retrieve, or store documents using established filing methods.

    Physically move or organize files, documents, equipment, supplies, or materials.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Comply with the Agency’s enterprise security and privacy policies and departmental procedures.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills

    High school diploma or equivalent, prior bookkeeping experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Perform work required for this position in an office environment.

    Remain sedentary for extended periods of time.

    Must be able to use a personal computer.
