    THE DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING & FINANCE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING THE CREDIT UNION SERVICE ORGANIZATION KNOWN AS MYCUMORTGAGE (CUSO’S) FINANCIAL REPORTING, AND MORTGAGE LOAN SERVICING’S INVESTOR ACCOUNTING AND CASH REMITTANCE PROCESSES ALL IN ACCORDANCE WITH GENERALLY ACCEPTED ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES, PUBLISHED INVESTOR GUIDELINES AND SOUND BUSINESS PRACTICES.

    1. Directs the development, implementation, and the management of accounting practices that result in providing a comprehensive financial accounting and reporting system, including the maintenance and supervision of the general ledger system involving daily, monthly and annual entries, fixed assets, and account reconciliations. (25%)
    2. Directs the development, implementation, and management of mortgage loan servicing practices that result in accurate and timely investor reporting and remittances to Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSEs), Partner Credit Unions and other investors according to published investor guidelines. (25%)
    3. Directs the development, implementation, and management of mortgage loan servicing practices that result in accurate and timely receipt and application of mortgage loan payments. (15%)
    4. Manages the account reconciliation process for all general ledger accounts, all CUSO bank accounts and all custodial bank accounts. Assures that all reconciliations are prepared, reviewed and approved timely, and reconciling items are cleared according to accounting practices. (10%)
    5. As the CUSO’s Accounting Manager, provides recommendations to secondary market personnel as to hedging and pricing strategies as a part of the CUSO’s overall interest rate risk management process. (5%)
    6. Manages the CUSO cash flow through oversight of cash receipts, mortgage payments, accounts receivable, accounts payable, multiple lines of credit, and funding disbursements related to mortgage loans. (5%)
    7. Prepares the annual financial budget and performs regular analysis to compare actual results to projections. (5%)
    8. Works closely with external auditors, regulatory agencies, GSEs and taxing authorities. (5%)
    9. Expands the capabilities of subordinates through coaching, training, and appraisal. (5%)

     

    Required Skills

    1. A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
    2. Five years of experience in accounting at a financial institution is required.
    3. Three years of experience in mortgage loan servicing investor accounting and remitting is preferred.
    4. Designation as either a Certified Management Accountant or Certified Public Accountant is desired.
    5. A minimum of three years of management experience is required.
    6. Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and regulations regarding mortgage accounting along with knowledge and understanding of applicable tax laws and rules.
    7. Demonstrated knowledge of mortgage loan servicing with a concentration in GSE investor reporting and remitting guidelines.
    8. Demonstrated ability to analyze, reason, problem solve and prioritize work independently and to accomplish business and tactical goals.
    9. Demonstrated advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office products.
