Responsibilities

Join the After School and Camp Division of Code To The Future!

Your main objective will be to teach Chess and/or Computer Science in K-8 schools. You will work closely with students to help them achieve academic excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching chess and computer science courses to K-8 classes

  • Tracking Student progress and building rapport with school staff

  • Quickly learning new educational platforms, including professional programming languages.

We will provide you with extensive training and ongoing support to help you have a successful year in 2016/2017, and will continue to support you with training, experience, and resources.

Qualifications

  • Teaching Credential a plus but not required (emergency credentials granted to bachelor degree holders)

  • Experience coding or studying computer science is a plus

  • Experience in chess is a plus

  • Experience in teaching computer science also a plus

  • Enjoyment working with K-8th grade students

  • Experience building curricula is a plus

  • Self-motivated: Able to be extremely productive, even with limited oversight at times

  • Bachelor's Degree

Compensation

Approximately $20/hour. 2-10 hours per week.
