Responsibilities

Join the After-School and Camps Division of our team! We are looking to hire a few instructors for our Success Through Chess and Code to the Future educational programs. We provide all equipment and training in curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Be fun and engaging with k-8 students

  • Teach a class of 10-20 students in either chess or computer programing for 60 minutes

  • Manage a classroom, ensuring students are behaving and staying on task

  • Communicate with manager of area-Participate in bi-weekly team meetings offering suggestions, promising practices, and areas of improvement.

*A great part-time job. Ideal for college students. Success Through Chess and Code to the Future are two educational programs that have been pioneering supplemental school programs around the country.

We offer schools fun and incredible ways to teach 21st century skills while developing critical and creative thinking.

Qualifications

Requirements: - Reliable car and cell phone

  • A good GPA

  • Experience working with students

  • High energy

  • Has the ability to interact with school staff, students and parents

  • An enthusiasm about learning/teaching in new and innovative ways

  • Quick learning ability

  • Organized

  • Punctual

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Posses a working knowledge of the game of chess

  • Seeking a educational or computer science degree/career

Compensation

$25 per one hour class, usually 1.5 hours on site.
