Animal Care Instructors teach campers how to interact with and care for the animals at our on-site farm, which is home to pigs, sheep, alpacas, and goats. Instructors create and teach an animal care curriculum for campers aged 4-8, and focus on different topics each week like the animals’ digestive systems or eye and teeth shape. Animal Care staff work together with the Pony staff to create and teach a fun and informative curriculum.

The Pony Riding Instructor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the camp pony riding program, including teaching safe riding and pony care. The Pony Instructor coordinates and instructs lessons in riding and horsemanship, and is responsible for the care and feeding of the ponies. Pony staff work together with the Animal Care staff to create and teach a fun and informative curriculum.

Staff ride the bus to camp each day with their campers. Buses leave from North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Calabasas, West Hills, Agoura, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Simi Valley, and Newbury Park. If your home is within 30 minutes of any of these locations, you can easily be a part of our program this summer. One crucial part of the job is creating a safe and fun bus ride for the campers! On the bus, campers and staff sing songs, play games, and compete in a friendly competition to see who has the most bus spirit!

Applicants must be college-aged or older. Must be certified in CPR and First Aid (Training is available through camp). Previous riding and horse care experience is required for the Ponies Riding Instructor.
