    TIME: Monday - Friday:  Before Care: 7:00 AM - 8:20 AM After Care: 3:05PM - 6:00 PM

    Apollo After School offers after-school care and enrichment clubs at local schools. We are looking for outgoing, personable and reliable site directors for our school-based programs in the area. We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, patient and caring individuals who are flexible, responsible, and can work equally well with both adults and children.

    COORDINATOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise all aspects of a school-based after-school program
    • Ensure the safety and security of children enrolled
    • Manage daily operations and coordinate with the school's administration, teachers, and custodial staff
    • Organize program logistics, such as schedules, lesson plan collection, snack and space, supply requests, and other programmatic needs
    • Build relationships with the school principal and administrative team to facilitate an overall positive after-school culture
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders (participants, parents, school staff and administration)
    • Ensure that the program operates in compliance with all NJ Office of Licensing and DCF
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance data and meet deadlines for data entry into the database
    • Manage Program Staff and promote their professional growth and development
    • Assist in training, and coaching of program staff
    • Conduct classroom observations; assess and evaluate staff on a consistent basis and address concerns as they arise
    • Maintain accurate records for all staff, incident and accident reports, and other required documentation
    • Review lesson plans weekly
    • Ensure program content supports goals and outcomes
    • Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day;
    • Effectively attract and retain students through enthusiasm, teaching skill and patience;
    • Communicate and collaborate with students' families to share individual strengths, successes, and challenges;
    • Follow the designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for students;
    • Gather, review, and use program data for program improvement

    EXPECTATIONS INCLUDE:

    • Ability to command respect and cooperation of an elementary classroom;
    • Confidence to run a classroom alone;
    • A team player who can collaborate with peers;
    • Ability to assess and solve problems associated with elementary aged children;
    • Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring, and responsive educational environment

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of two years working with school-age youth, ages 4-12 in a school/after-school setting
    • First Aid/CPR certified (we train)
    • Must take part in 30 hours of paid professional development
    • A current physical exam and TB test are required. 
    • All site-based staff must be fingerprinted and background checked

    COMPENSATION: $15 - $18 DOE
