    Job Summary:

    Under the direct supervision of the General Superintendent, the Surveyor performs a variety of tasks related to reporting and general survey support to RSD. The primary role of this position is to provide land surveying for layout of topside operations including setting vertical and horizontal control for the project or specific operation.

    Education:

    · High school degree or equivalent

    · Transportation Workers’ Identification (TWIC) Card

    · Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

    · OSHA 10

    Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year experience working in a similar role within the construction industry
    • 1 year experience with Trimble survey systems or equivalent
    • Knowledge of principles and methods for describing the features of land, water, and air masses, including their physical characteristics, locations, and interrelationships
    • Knowledge of company safety policies and procedures to comply with company, local, state and/or federal laws

    Skills:

    • Proficient with conventional survey tools and GPS equipment
    • Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to perform a job
    • Understanding technical language in work related documents
    • Using mathematics to solve problems
    • Communicate effectively in writing
    • Ability to operate two-way radio

    Responsibilities:

    • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain
    • Compute geodetic measurements and interpret survey data in order to determine positions, shapes, and elevations of geomorphic and topographic features
    • Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS)
    • Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties
    • Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements
    • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed
    • Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
    • Record the results of surveys, including shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features
    • Performs other related duties as required

    Physical Demands Working Environment:


    • Constant bending, stooping, twisting, crawling, kneeling
    • Constant standing/walking on uneven surfaces
    • Occasional working with arms/hands raised above head
    • Constant hand and forearming activities
    • Occasional climbing of ladders, platforms, scaffolding
    • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level
    • Occasional lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance
    • Ability to understand written instructions
    • Ability to see detail at a distance and at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
    • Work in environmental extremes of heat and cold dependent upon job location
    • Frequent work in dusty environments
    • Frequent work in areas of excessive noise

    Salary Range:


    · $80K - $97K

    · Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of successful experience (a) fundraising in a college or university development program or other comparable charitable organization and/or (b) in high level sales, preferably in financial services or related field. Additional special skills and characteristics include the following:

    · Prior experience in a college or university setting, enthusiasm for fundraising in a university setting.

    · Knowledge of fundraising principles, methods, and standards

    · Proven success in securing and conducting face to face meetings for major gift solicitations.

    · Ability to establish, cultivate and steward strong relationships with prospects and donors and align their passions with the mission, priorities, and goals of the university.

    · Self-directed, self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects well, working both independently and as a team member.

    · Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

    · Comfortable and adaptable in the current virtual/remote working environment and can successfully navigate technology to fulfill the position’s responsibilities.

    · Commitment to representing the college with enthusiasm, warmth, and professionalism.

    · Strong organizational and time management skills.

    · Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with Raisers Edge NXT or customer relationship management (CRM) systems and procedures a plus.

    · Ability to actively listen, good observation skills.
