At ACC, every employee is focused and responsible for student success. We promote a culture of inclusivity and innovation through individualized support, passionate employees, and a welcoming environment. Hands on experiences and personalized attention make learning come alive at ACC enabling our diverse community of students and staff to develop the knowledge and skills they need to reach their academic and career goals. Since 1965, ACC has supported a culture of achievement and has been the place of choice for people who want to Move Mountains.
ACC seeks applicants who understand and have first-hand experience working with diverse populations, which may include but are not limited to, historically marginalized populations such as people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, veterans, first generation graduates, and people with disabilities.
The Year to Career Program Navigator plays a pivotal role in the effective day-to-day management of the Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grant awarded to ACC from the U.S. Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. This grant is awarded to community colleges and other institutions to develop and provide equitable education and training through workforce development programs and career pathways. Recipients of the grant build partnerships with local employers, community services, and other workforce entities to address disparities in workforce outcomes for marginalized and underrepresented populations.
The Year to Career Navigator works to remove barriers that may impede a student’s academic and career success as they work to complete micro-pathway programs in healthcare or IT. Through career assessments and one-on-one individualized support, the Navigator will work with the student to create a roadmap to meet their goals. The Navigator’s commitment extends beyond program completion to supporting graduates transitioning to their next academic pursuit or embarking on their job search. Candidates should have a strong understanding of systemic barriers to student success and a commitment to helping students overcome those barriers while working within that system.
The Navigator is also a key partner to the Year to Career Coordinator in promoting Year to Career programs to both prospective students and community partners. The Navigator implements recruitment strategies and conducts proactive outreach to students interested in the program. Additionally, they will build relationships and promote the program with local workforce center staff and community-based organizations to increase enrollment in the program.
This is a grant-funded position through February 28, 2027. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.
