    Academic Programs Coordinator 48139BR Campus: Tempe Coordinator Job Description The Academic Programs Coordinator plans, organizes and coordinates support activities and functions related to graduate and undergraduate academic programs in the School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning (SGSUP) in accordance with relevant ASU policies and procedures as well as ASU/School priorities, time and funding limitations. The coordinator works under direct supervision of the Manager of Academic programs and in collaboration with faculty and other staff. Salary Range $18,000- $22,000 per year; DOE Close Date 11-January-2019 Category 02 Essential Duties - Class Scheduling and Rooms Management for 4 prefixes (GCU, GPH, GIS and PUP) in collaboration with School leadership and faculty coordinators for each major/concentration. - Supports scheduling of university facilities and services related to school operations and programs. - Instructor Class Funding reporting and Effort Reporting. - Serves as roster contact for grade changes and ensures compliance with ASU/ABOR policies and deadlines (grades submitted, incomplete grade assignment review for accuracy and supporting documentation). - Provides academic program related support, including but not limited to course catalog, Curriculum ChangeMaker processes and teaching evaluation data set-up and cleaning. - Provides assistance and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding SGSUP academic programs. - Maintains direct contact and excellent collaborative relationships with personnel of various outside organizations and university departments associated with scheduling/rooms functions. - Seeks to identify weaknesses in existing policies/processes/protocols pertinent to the role of academic programs coordinator and to suggest/develop potential solutions/changes. - Interacts with and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with students, faculty and staff within and beyond SGSUP to facilitate school objectives. - May represent the school on various college and university committees. - Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Desired Qualifications - Experience working with room scheduling software Ad ASTRA - Experience scheduling classes into department facilities. - Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with ASU academic program planning and scheduling activities, policies and procedures. - Experience working with Curriculum ChangeMaker Working Environment - Activities are primarily performed in a regular climate-controlled office subject to extended periods of sitting. - Use of office equipment including a desktop computer. - Lift items up to 20 pounds and attend meetings at various locations across campus. - Work both independently and/or within a complex structured team. Department Statement The School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning (SGSUP) is a major participant in the instructional and research activities of Arizona State University. A staff team of 11 support ~40 instructional faculty including three members of the National Academy of Sciences, approximately 800 undergraduate majors and 200 graduate students. The school offers undergraduate degrees in Geography, Planning and Geographical Information Sciences.
