    The Field Program Coordinator for Psychology will manage department activities, as well as special projects, for the undergraduate and graduate field programs in psychology under the direction of the Department Chair.  The field program coordinator works closely with program directors, other program coordinators, and the department chair to ensure integrated quality of program outcomes, student service, and department continuity, through collaborative effort to manage student matriculation and administrative responsibilities of the Psychology Programs. 

     

    The Field Program Coordinator is responsible to develop, coordinate, and manage field placement relationships for the department of psychology.  This person is responsible for forming and maintaining contracted field sites, facilitating student placement to field sites, and coordinating documentation processes in placement, evaluation, and contracting.  The field coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate databases, records, websites, and practicum handbooks.  Additionally, this person develops and maintains strong working relationships with placement organizations.  The coordinator is also responsible for overseeing the planning and managing of special events and activities for the Psychology Department Programs.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • Master’s degree or B.A. with 5 years of administrative experience.

     

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Administrative leadership, interagency collaboration facilitation, effective multidisciplinary team facilitation experience.

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Work as a collaborative member of the leadership team within the department of psychology, assuming duties as assigned to ensure integrated, effective, and efficiency of departmental, program, and student service needs.
    • Build interagency relationships with community partners to ensure high-quality applied learning experiences.
    • Manage clinical facility contract process, ensuring contracts are up to date at all times
    • Coordinate with other APU schools or departments re:multi-field facility agreements.
    • Identify, pursue, and generate new facility contracts with community agencies.
    • Work directly with students and faculty to assist in successful student placement
    • Work with General Counsel’s office to secure and maintain current affiliation agreements.
    • Work with Risk Manger’s office as needed.
    • Maintain contract monitoring system to ensure current contracts for every agency affiliation.
    • Update contract spreadsheet, handbook, and website with current contract information (affiliation agreement names and addresses, effective dates and expiration dates).
    • Calendar contract expiration and renewal dates.
    • Maintain contract database on the shared google drive
    • In collaboration with program directors and faculty, collect, aggregate, analyze and report on field placement outcomes.
    • Maintain database, and ensure data entry for placement evaluations of students, student evaluation of placements, and time logs.
    • Help with other projects, as needed/assigned.
    • Interface with other departments in the university.
    • Coordinate meetings, and provides administrative support to the chair, program directors, and faculty of the department as needed.a
    • Oversee workload for graduate student workers in the Psychology department.
    • Coordinates and facilitates special events for the department.
    • Manages correspondence with students.
    • Manages social media, department website, and other communication with the community.
    • Oversees the management of assisting faculty in various tasks.
    • Records minutes in faculty meetings.
    • Oversees the service and maintenance of all program resources, assists in purchasing resources as needed.
    • Oversees the essential day-to-day office functions: monitoring paperwork, answering email and the telephone, distributing office mail, maintaining office files, ordering office supplies, processing mailings, and duplication.
    • Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    • Proficient in all versions of software used by the university including MS Word, MS Excel spreadsheets, MS PowerPoint, MS Publisher. Etc., Gmail, Google Docs, Windows, and Macintosh OS. Ability to manage social media accounts and update departmental website.

     

    COMPENSATION

    • Grade 8: $21.44 - $27.87/hourly
    • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
