  • Responsibilities

    The Assistant Coach directly reports to the Head Coach of the program. In addition, the assistant coach has reporting responsibilities to the Athletic Director.

    Salary commensurate with experience and education.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Assistant Coach is responsible for:

    • Formulate the team’s competitive schedule in cooperation with the head coach and athletic director. Offer game contracts with the assistance of the athletic director.
    • Plan and implement recruiting. Schedule recruiting trips for the staff and coordinate recruits to visit campus. Schedule campus visits with appointments to see academic advisors, dorm supervisors and if possible the athletic director and college president.
    • Accurately order athletic supplies with the assistance of the head coach. Supplies shall consist of uniforms and all other supplies needed for the season. Plan accordingly for the supplies to be delivered when needed for practice and the season.
    • Schedule transportation, housing and meal arrangements for all home and away games.
    • Supervise the team on all trips.
    • Deal effectively with various public and booster groups to promote the respective sports programs.
    • Attend all required Booster Club and public relations activities.
    • Comply with all college, Scenic West Athletic Conference and NJCAA rules and regulations.
    • Arrange weight room use with facilitator and other coaches.
    • Monitor and encourage the academic progress of student-athletes, oversee the academic scheduling for transferable credits and plan for graduation. The assistant coach will attend CSI graduation.
    • Plan and conduct conditioning program.
    • Plan and conduct a sound pre-season training program.
    • Plan and conduct a summer work-out program for participants.
    • Assistant coach may teach a class(es) as part of the job description.
    • Communicate effectively in oral and written English.
    • Work and interact effectively with colleagues, staff, students, administrators and others of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks.
    • Experience and skills to effectively manage conflict.
    • Perform other duties as deemed necessary

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Associate degree minimum, bachelor's desired.
    • Ability to work under stress.
    • Must be able to perform functions necessary to coach student-athletes.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Prepare cost estimates for construction and maintenance projects. Aid management in bidding on or determining price and schedule. Some key task and responsibilities are:

    • Read and comprehend all contract documents including specifications, project scopes, drawings and standards to prepare accurate project cost estimates
    • Accurately take off material quantities from drawings to develop material and labor pricing
    • Assemble scoped RFP’s for vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing. Analyze, compare and select best value vendor and subcontractor proposals for inclusion in cost estimates
    • Prepare schedules for proposal submission
    • Attend pre-bid meetings and site walk-downs to understand project scope, conditions, physical restrictions, etc.
    • Escort subcontractors on site visits, walking them through the scope of work to obtain the most accurate pricing
    • Attend post-bid review and project kick-off meetings with the owner as needed
    • Attend in-house project turnover meetings from estimating to project management
    • Understand and appropriately estimate the costs associated with safety and other project location specific work rules
    • Participate in bid review and scope review meetings and be able to explain a projects scope and estimated project costs as well as assumptions and means/methods to upper management for approval
    • Utilize historical cost data to develop cost estimates
    • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
    • Maintain continuity among corporate, division and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and helping other estimators as needed
    • Prepare detailed breakdown of cost estimates that facilitates review and understanding

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirement:


    • 5-10 years of field experience in industrial and power construction

    Physical Demands

    • Required to relocate to the project area
    • Additional travel may be required to attend training and meetings.
    • Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift
    • Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb.
    • Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds.
    • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
    • Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly.
