    Associate I, Bursar

    Position Summary:

    The Associate I, Bursar will work directly with the learners to ensure the accuracy of all learner accounts. The incumbent will coordinate payments with learners, and maintain all payment and fee information for the learner to help support their completion of the program.

    Hourly pay $25-$27/hr.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Coordinates with learners to maintain on-time payments of tuition and fees.
    • Posts payments from all funding sources into the ledger.
    • Posts relevant fees manually into the student information system (SIS).
    • Updates learner accounts to reflect refunds.
    • Manage and process learner ledger credits through stipend payments.
    • Updates the SIS to reflect payments and ensure accuracy of the ledger.
    • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    • Some college is required; an associate degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution is preferred.
    • Demonstrated one year of experience with entry-level or basic Accounting or Finance is required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office Applications is required.
    • Demonstrated ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is required.
    • Demonstrated one year of experience in the customer service field is strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, graphs is preferred.
    • Some experience at a higher institution of learning is preferred.
    • Some experience working with a ledger or accounts receivable is preferred.
