    Job Description

    We're redefining what's possible in public education. Today, as the fastest growing, highest-performing charter school network in New York, our network of 53 K-12 schools outperforms every district in the state, proving irrefutably that all children are capable of excellence. We are looking to hire a results-driven Communications Associate to join our Public Affairs team.

    The Public Affairs team works to develop and deliver engaging internal and external communications and effective public relations. In collaboration with a number of other departments (Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, SA’s internal Creative Agency; Schooling, among others), the Communications Team is responsible for producing high-quality written content for our website, Intranet, newsletters and emails, as well as brochures and collateral. Public Affairs manages our advocacy program that advances K-12 public education reform and influences local and national policies, works to ensure that NYC public charter schools have equitable resources to continue to deliver the high-quality education children deserve, and enhances SA’s reputation through the Robertson Center’s workshops, webinars, consulting, and leadership development programs.

    The Communications Associate will play a critical role in developing, writing and producing best-in-class communications to ensure internal audiences are well informed and engaged in the overall mission of Success Academy, as well as relevant academic and education reform issues, and the achievements of our scholars and educators. In this role, you will work to advance SA’s unique dual mission: To build exceptional, world-class public schools that empower children from all backgrounds to succeed in college and life; and to advocate across the country to change public policies that prevent so many children from having access to opportunity

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Communications Associate is responsible for ensuring our audiences (educators, Network office employees, families, students, etc.) are well informed and engaged in the overall mission of Success Academy, supporting our strategic initiatives and enterprise goals; promoting Success Academy’s value proposition and brand; celebrating the achievements of our scholars and educators and building excitement and support for relevant academic and education reform issues. They will:

    • Develop and draft best-in-class content for a variety of channels (email, newsletters, intranet, website) and initiatives.

    • Collaborate with partners and subject matter experts across the organIzation.

    • Identify the best platforms and channels to share information and develop content strategy for each.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2-4 years experience developing and executing communications.

    • Exceptional writer able to synthesize complex issues and new initiatives.

    • Technology savvy.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confidence in communicating across a wide variety of platforms, including digital, written, and in-person presentations.

    Compensation Range

    Annual Salary: $58,500.00 - $62,000.00
