    Job Description

    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    The Dean of Students Office Program Coordinator provides programmatic, systems, and administrative support for the Dean of Students and the Division of Student Experience and Success, as well as supports Title IX and sexual misconduct work as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Dean of Students and offices across the Division of Student Experience and Success (SES), including clerical work, scheduling meetings and appointments, supporting events and programs, managing and training staff into systems (e.g., Navigate, Maxient, The Housing Director, Auggie Life, etc.), and more.
    • Maintain systems around student conduct and student incidents; schedule conduct meetings; monitor sanction compliance; maintain and report conduct data; and communicate with students, families, faculty, and staff to understand and to navigate the process.
    • Provide support around case management regarding student alerts (e.g., attendance, grades, safety, mental health, etc.); maintain and disseminate student reports (individual and aggregate); and assign student cases to relevant staff and faculty on campus.
    • Serve as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator by managing and tracking student cases that are handled through the University’s sexual misconduct policy.
    • Manage Auggie Basics Housing, Auggie Basics Dining, and the Emergency Fund, connecting students with needed resources around housing, food, and funding, respectively.
    • Provide support for the Students of Concern Team, including tracking student case progress and assigning student cases to faculty and staff.
    • Maintain and edit Student Guide, Dean of Students website, and assist with other SES division website management, as needed.
    • Manage student transportation needs, including Auggie Pass and Bookstore bus passes.
    • Provide administrative support for the Board of Regents Student Experience and Success Committee.
    • Engage in research around student experience and student success best practices to assist the SES division in its work.
    • Assist students, parents, and others with questions, concerns, and feedback regarding University policies and campus navigation.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with various Augsburg departments and individuals on student issues.
    • All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s four-year degree preferred
    • Three (3) years of experience in a related position.
    • Intermediate experience using databases such as Excel, Google Docs, etc.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of intercultural competency and a demonstrated pursuit of continual development in the area of intercultural competency
    • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively across cultures and within a diverse work environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to be attentive to details, be accurate, be precise.
    • Ability to lead/teach and mentor others. 
    • Ability to reason/analyze; maintain confidentiality; and demonstrate patience, understanding.
    • Ability to show initiative; multi-task and organize workflow; manage one or more multiple projects; and handle frequent interruptions.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment; and work independently with little supervision.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Typical work environment is an office suite, with routine communication with students, staff, families and others over the phone, in-person, and through email. 
    • Some evening and weekend work due to student situations or program activities, such as Orientation.
    • Regular computer use.
    • Intense work environment during times of student crisis.
