    Job Description

    The Chemistry Department at Augsburg University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Chemistry, beginning August 2023.  For full consideration applications should be received by October 21, 2022.  

    The Chemistry Department seeks individuals with a passion for engaging students of all backgrounds in the exploration of chemistry.  The successful candidate will have opportunities to teach general chemistry, organic chemistry, associated labs, preferred sub-specialty (organic, inorganic, material, polymer) in our ACS accredited undergraduate program, and develop courses meeting Augsburg’s commitment to the Liberal Arts and scientific literacy.

    Candidates should demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and professional activities / scholarship which engages undergraduates and stimulates their vocational potential.  Doctoral candidates will be considered if the doctorate will be completed by August 2023. Post-doctoral/industrial experience, and/or previous college-level teaching experience preferred.  

    If appropriate, part of your workload may include time to develop and set up a research program to engage with students and seek external funding.  Successful candidates will have demonstrated abilities in working in an academic community committed to mentoring undergraduates and intentional diversity. Candidates are thus encouraged to highlight skills and experiences that demonstrate intercultural competence.
