Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support student achievement in alignment with grade-level standards
- Carry a caseload of 18-20 students on average, providing direct instruction for students as well as push-in, co-taught or indirect services
- Evaluate, progress monitor, and write IEPs for a caseload of students

OTHER INFORMATION
- Cross-categorical teachers may work at the elementary, middle, or high school levels and are assigned to one building.
- Cross categorical (mild/moderate) special education teachers typically work Monday-Friday during school hours and have weekends, evenings, holidays and summers off.
- Employees are paid year-round to receive a consistent income over 12 months. There are often opportunities to work extra hours if desired.
- Full benefits are included.
- In addition to the salary, Mild Moderate teachers receive up to 21 hours of additional pay for special education paperwork completed outside the work day and may be eligible for a $5,000 hard to fill stipend.
- A special education generalist license or a Temporary Educator Eligibility Authorization from the Colorado Department of Education is required.
