Overview:
Xavier University is seeking a full-time Plumber. Key duties include performing preventative maintenance, responding to service calls, troubleshooting issues in various building systems, and managing work orders through the campus's maintenance system. The role requires a strong understanding of plumbing principles and safety standards. Responsibilities:
Install and repair plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets), pipes, and other plumbing materials throughout campus buildings.
Investigate and fix problems in plumbing and related systems, such as water and drainage.
Perform scheduled maintenance on plumbing and mechanical systems to prevent future issues and ensure continuous operation.
Complete and manage work orders using the campus's computer maintenance management system.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training is preferred.
Experience in plumbing, maintenance, or a similar facilities role is typically required, often 3-5 years.
Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with standard plumbing tools.
Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, working from ladders, or in confined spaces.
A valid driver's license
