    POSITION SUMMARY

    Currently in search of a self-motivated, customer service oriented individual to add to our Parts Department located in Suffolk, VA. Eventual growth into management is possible for the right candidate. Essential functions and accountabilities include:

    • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
    • Follow all parts department guidelines and procedures
    • Exhibit a service first mentality and think outside of the box to solve problems for customers

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Check in all morning deliveries and ensure parts are stored in proper bin location
    • Communicate with customers when orders are complete
    • Keep showroom properly stocked, following Lawrence Equipment guidelines
    • Responsible for housekeeping items within the shop, including, but not limited to taking out trash, sweeping, stocking restrooms, and keeping the counters clean and free from clutter
    • Responsible for building relationships with customers and offering additional solutions
    • Responsible for proper and timely follow up with both internal and external customers
    • Work with management on monthly promotions
    • Communicate effectively with manger, co-workers, customers, and vendors

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous parts experience is preferred, not required
    • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
    • Demonstrated customer service and people skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Professional and well-groomed Appearance
    • Must have working knowledge of MS Office

    The successful candidate will be responsible for reference desk services, bibliographic instruction, cataloging support and supervising student workers in the absence of their supervisor. Variable hours may include weekends

    MLS from an American Library Association accredited school; commitment to the community college philosophy and information literacy; familiarity with research databases, OCLC and Microsoft products such as Word, Access, and Excel; pleasant personality to deal with students and the public; strong commitment to customer service.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Weekend and evening assignments as scheduled.
    2. Answer reference questions from students, faculty, staff, and community members regarding research needs.
    3. Assist students in the research process: topic selection, evaluation of sources, and proper documentation of references.
    4. Have a strong commitment to customer service.
    5. Have excellent technology skills and expertise in database searching and the utilization of Microsoft Office and Windows.
    6. Assist students with research databases..
    7. Present information literacy instruction to classes.
    8. Assist with cataloging using OCLC and Sirsi WorkFlows..
    9. Supervise student workers in the absence of their supervisor.
    10. Make recommendations for book purchases.
    11. Have knowledge of information literacy and promote the concept on the job.
    12. Perform other duties as assigned.
