Adjunct Faculty - Department of School Counseling & School Psychology
Under the direction of the Idaho STAR Program Director, leads the marketing functions of the STAR Program, planning and executing a comprehensive, proactive strategy that advances the program’s mission and goals by building support for the brand, defining target audiences, and promoting STAR’s major initiatives, services, and events.
Works with other colleagues to plan and implement marketing strategies that support efforts to reach and engage the program’s target audiences, which include but are not limited to future and current rider training students and untrained motorcycle riders. The Communications Manager leads the program’s marketing campaign strategy, overseeing creative message / graphic development and deployment to achieve objectives supporting the overall image of the program.
In addition to managing the marketing functions, under direction of the STAR Program Director, the Communications Manager also leads internal and external communications to project a unified voice for STAR and sustain cohesion in cultural messaging to multiple audiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
UNIQUE FUNCTIONS:
Participates in planning and allocating the departmental budget, which includes monitoring spending, approving purchases, and reallocating funds.
Makes fiscal decisions for media buys.
Participates on teams and takes a lead role when necessary for program events such as conferences, celebratory events, and educational outreach events.
Creates strategic plans for new marketing initiatives, including budget allocation, message development, creative direction, target audiences, timelines, and/or other related issues.

Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communication, or equivalent experience in the field.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS
This position typically works Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position also attends multiple events throughout the year such as community outreach events, Instructor training events, STAR courses, etc. These events will require working weekends, approximately once per month from March to November.
