    Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator will provide exceptional service to the APU community and provide key operational support to the Talent Acquisition team to aid in the execution of successful hiring and onboarding, and other aspects of the recruiting process. This individual will provide recruiting reports for the talent team and HR Business Partners. Manage the job requisition process and update job descriptions and specifications. Updates applicant tracking system and other systems; prepares and places job postings across appropriate media; coordinates background checks; and seeks to ensure a positive candidate and new hire onboarding experience, and co-facilitates New Employee Orientation. This individual will seek continuous improvement and help to develop and maximize system capabilities and enhance automation.

     

    REQUIRED EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 1-3 years of HR recruitment or relevant experience.
    • Familiarity with CRM, HR or other relevant databases (Applicant Tracking System or Candidate Management Systems).

     

    PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Manages the staff applicant tracking system, including entry of requisitions, review of job descriptions, and review of applicant profiles, and routes them accordingly.
    • Responsible for updating applicant tacking system and generating reports.
    • Submits advertising information regarding open staff positions for the APU website, and other sources as necessary.  
    • Submits requests for background investigation for final candidates.
    • Stays current in all areas of government regulations pertaining to employment policy.
    • Assists with New Employee Orientation.
    • Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements using job boards, social media platforms and specialty sites.
    • Updates job knowledge by reading professional publications and e-newsletters; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
    • Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs.
    • Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.

    • Experience in recruiting, human resources, or relevant experience.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Requires repetitive motions and sitting at computer keyboard. 
    • Hearing and speaking on the telephone. 
    • Able to conduct business at other offices on campus. 
    • Able to lift, bend, grasp, reach, lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

     

    VISUAL DEMANDS

    • Computer monitor and reading.

     

    ENVIRONMENT

    • Pleasant office setting, comfortable temperature.
    • Able to climb stairs, office does not have an elevator.

     

    TECHNOLOGIES

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software.
    • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems and HRIS preferred.
    • Familiar with professional social media platforms such as Linked In.

     

    COMPENSATION

    • Grade 7: $19.49-$25.33/hourly.
    • Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
