Adjunct Faculty - Department of Theology (Undergraduate)

The Department of Theology invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in the Theology program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Adjunct faculty for the undergraduate Theology program provide instruction in doctrine courses for the general education requirement in Theology (THEO 303, THEO 352, THEO 354, THEO 363) in accordance with Theology program goals (http://www.apu.edu/theology/philosophy/theology/about/). Adjunct faculty responsibilities include:
Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.
Student advising and office hours in relation to the assigned course(s).
Participation in annual in-service faculty meetings as identified by the department chair or program director.
Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades from evaluation of tests, quizzes, homework, and other assignments and activities related to course material.
Consult with program director or department chair for course development strategies in response to an annual class visit and evaluation by the program director or chair.
Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have a Ph.D. or be ABD with all coursework completed in Systematic Theology or Church History.
• Preferred experience includes teaching at the college or university level.
• The ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
• A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Azusa Pacific University.
WORKLOAD
Assigned teaching duties will not exceed 9 units per semester; office hours and additional duties may be assigned. Total workload will not exceed 29 hours per week, nor 24 units per 12-month period.
