DESCRIPTION:
The Security Specialist analyzes, plans, advises, operates, or evaluates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, ad methods for identifying and protecting classified information, personnel, property, facility, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
PRIMARY DUTIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Directs employees on security related processes
- Develops and conducts security related training for employees
- Program planning, program evaluation, identifying and resolving security related issues, and advising organizational leadership on appropriate Physical Security, Operational Security (OPSEC) and Antiterrorism/ Force Protection (AT/FP) measures.
- Developing, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and material.
- Developing and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma and 3 years’ experience in physical security, operational security (OPSEC) and Anti-terrorism/Force Protection within the past five (5) years.
- Possess the knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage material and distribution services and tasks listed above.
- Experience working with the Federal Government.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be detail oriented and organized.
- Expert ability to research, analyze, and evaluated information.
- Expert ability to express ideas effectively orally and in writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
