Research Technician – Molecular Biologist, Biochemist in Epigenetics & Genomics
Job Description
A Research Technician position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Kyle Eagen in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. The research technician will expand upon a dynamic research program dedicated to understanding the molecular basis of nuclear organization and genome architecture. S/he will be responsible for taking on highly interdisciplinary projects and key functions in this endeavor, including projects focusing on molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, as well as genomics approaches using next-generation DNA sequencing technology. S/he will work side-by-side with Dr. Eagen to develop cutting-edge scientific skills as the lab expands into new research areas.
The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, well organized, manage time effectively, and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. S/he will also be required to conduct experimental research lab work and assist in the design of one or more specific phases of entire projects. Previous experience with molecular biology and/or biochemistry is essential for this position.
