    Job Description

    TO COMPLY WITH GOVERNOR KATE BROWN’S EXECUTIVE ORDER - “ALL TEACHERS, EDUCATORS, SUPPORT STAFF, AND VOLUNTEERS IN K-12 SCHOOLS WILL BE REQUIRED TO BE FULLY VACCINATED BY OCTOBER 18, 2021".  UPON HIRE WE WILL NEED TO COLLECT A COPY OF YOUR COVID-19 VACCINATION CARD OR EVIDENCE OF A QUALIFYING MEDICAL OR RELIGIOUS EXCEPTION FROM THE MANDATE. The Beaverton School District is accepting applications for a PERSONNEL SPECIALIST (TOSA) IN HUMAN RESOURCES FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR. See attached job description. This position works in a fast-paced environment assisting with licensure, including navigating rules for licensure and communicating with the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC), screening and interview applicants, hiring substitute teachers and licensed staff, onboarding new employees, and licensed recruitment. The workflow follows the patterns of Human Resources and requires availability for extended contract work in the summer.  This may include local travel to area universities and hiring fairs. HR events may take place during the late afternoon or evening hours. NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an Oregon teaching license or the ability to obtain one Demonstrated commitment to equity Experience teaching K-12 Extreme attention to detail is required while processing large amounts of complex information. Accurately maintain  Proficiency and efficiency with technology (Google Suite preferred) Self-starter Ability to multi-task complex projects with short deadlines Strong oral and written communication skills with a variety of stakeholder groups, including administrators, licensed staff members, licensed substitutes, TSPC, applicants, and more Works well both independently and as part of a team Professional presentation with adult learners, including planning, organizing, and facilitating small and large group sessions Excellent time management and ability to prioritize, with prompt responsiveness and customer service.
