  • About Us

Wheel Kids Bicycle Club, Inc. is an adventure and exploration destination for kids, using bicycling as a means of promoting confidence, leadership, fitness and environmental and personal awareness. We provide opportunities for school-age children to ride bicycles within several cities of the San Francisco Bay Area and the surrounding region; we teach bicycling skills; we introduce participants to bicycle- and transportation-related professions; and we engage in activities that promote learning about the local urban and natural environment. Through these activities, Wheel Kids helps participating children achieve greater self-confidence and independence, improved physical fitness, improved bicycling skills in a variety of conditions, increased desire to continue bicycling, and daily doses of fun and happiness. There’s no getting around it: riding bikes is fun! It combines independent mobility, highly coordinated gross and fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and instantaneous decision-making and feedback with going fast, being silly and generally goofing off.

Wheel Kids is dedicated to letting kids be kids and doing the things they love to do:

    • Kids love to ride their bikes – we teach them how, we teach them new skills, we ride along side them
    • Kids love to explore and find new things and activities – we guide them to places they’ve never been and to experiences they’ve never had
    • Kids love to learn – we provide opportunities to gain new skills and new interests and encourage hands-on immersion in everything we do
    • Kids love their independence – we give them just enough autonomy to allow them a sense of self-guided accomplishment and self-confidence boosting success.
