Excellence for All (EFA) is a Boston Public Schools initiative that aims to provide quality instruction and enrichment experiences to all grade 4 and 5 students in 13 schools in 2017-2018.The Program Coordinator will support EFAs project implementation. The coordinator should have solid knowledge of cultural and linguistic practices in instruction, with particular expertise in culturally relevant instruction. The EFA program coordinator position requires expertise in universal design for learning, personalized learning strategies with a solid foundation in curriculum design. This person should be comfortable and have proven success in teaching children from historically marginalized communities, students with disabilities, and English Language Learners. The coordinator will have expert knowledge of Systemic Functional Linguistics. Duties and Responsibilities -Assist in the design of summer professional development, manage logistics for PD and ensure follow-up -Assist in the design of year-long professional development, manage logistics for PD and ensure follow-up -Manage the Excellence for All STEM Program including oversight of instructors, establishing program infrastructures, and designing their professional development experiences for instructors and school teachers. Collaborate with other offices to re-design the STEM curriculum and calendar. -Manage collaborative work with partner offices, create a work plan, and ensure timely implementation of all agreed upon tasks. -Create and manage the EFA ISEE Program Required Qualifications -Experience with project management -Knowledge of the Massachusetts Standards for Professional Development and understanding of professional development design -Experience managing the design process for professional development -Understanding of data-informed decision-making to improve project outcomes -Ability to problem solve and analyze difficult contexts -Great oral and written communication skills -2 years of work experience -Bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications -Experience working with teachers and administrators -Understanding of the adult learner -Experience working for a large urban school district -Graduate degree Terms:Managerial, Tier C.
