  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Department Director, this administrative position is responsible for providing guidance on appointments and collaborating with ISSO. When we recruit faculty who need sponsorship and eventually start the permanent resident process, this position will oversee that process. The position will be the expert for faculty and visitor appointments. This position will also be responsible for the administrative and executive support to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE). Coordinates complex activities, establishes and maintains communication links with external constituencies, assists visitors, students, staff, and faculty in support of the mission of the department. Provides support and assists in MechE functional areas (Academic programs, financial Administration, etc.) during peak times. Maintains strict confidentiality in handling personnel records. Must demonstrate reliability, versatility, flexibility, and the ability to work independently. Strong organizational abilities, verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail required.

    Required Skills

    • B.A./B.S. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • 3-5 years of related experience.
